Birthday Party!

We had a busy, fun-filled weekend this past weekend. Though Addie's actually birthday has not yet come, we had her birthday party with friends and family last weekend. It was a great success, though we did miss one of Addie's good friends, Summer (she got to welcome her baby brother into the world last week!). It took the girls a little while to get going (it was a post-nap party), but once they really woke up, no one wanted to stop playing-they all had a blast together from what I could tell!

It was a princess-themed party and Addie decided to dress up in her Rapunzel dress.
Addie's cousin, Olivia, got to come, which was a big highlight!

Levi was the prince of the party.

Watching the first guest walk towards the door-so eager to greet her!

Playing "ring around the rosy"

Putting on the tiara she just finished decorating:

We let Levi join in on the fun...I unfortunately did not have a crown for him!

Dancing in the playroom"

Doing the limbo!

Levi didn't quite get it.

They each got to dance with their prince (Daddy)

Blowing bubbles!

Presents!

All the girls (from left to right): Addisyn, Olivia, Addie, and Lydia

Princess cupcakes (only for the girls and Levi-the adults had to settle for regular ones-I wasn't up to decorating that many!):

Addie LOVED her Ariel cupcake (her favorite princess)

Levi chowing down:

Addie would not put Ariel down, so this is how she chose to eat her cupcake:

Enjoying her new princess castle with her friends:

Happy Spring!

Pics of our library's storytime creations:

You can't see it in the pic, but there is a tail on the back of the hat that makes it even cuter!

A couple of videos

Here are a couple of videos I have taken recently of the kiddos. One is of Addie singing to Levi after a bath. The other one is Addie telling a story to her bear (but when I got the camera out, she started telling it to me instead, and got a little camera shy). The files were too big to upload on here, so here are the links to them. Enjoy!

Levi stats

Levi had his 18-month well check-up at the doctor yesterday, so for those of you interested, here are his stats: 20 lbs. 7 oz. (not on the chart), 32 and 1/4 in. (50%). Average length and skinny-no big surprise, seeing as he is wearing 18-month clothes for them to be long enough (long sleeves, long pants), but I am planning on him wearing 12-month shorts and t-shirts this summer and not have to pull up his shorts all the time-they should stay up! We'll see how that plays out. He is a healthy boy, learning new things all the time. His favorite word right now is "me", which he yells repeatedly as soon as he hears something he wants (we're going to eat soon, it might be nice to be able to play outside today, maybe we could play in the playroom today, we'll have a snack after nap time, etc...all to which we exclaims, "me me me me!"). I have been trying to keep track of what words he knows recently and he can say about 30 words that we (his parents) understand. He also knows 15-20 signs, so overall he is doing very well communication-wise. He calls himself "vi" and is finally able to say "Addie" though we have to force him to say that-he chooses to just call her "A" (as in the sound the "a" makes). He just started saying "Daddy" instead of "Dadda" and is able to say "Mommy" but chooses to say "Mama." He is still eating and sleeping great, and is really a joy to be around. Levi loves Addie so much and asks for her repeatedly anytime they are not together-he hates it when they are apart. So sweet.

Random pics

I know it's been a while since I've posted, so I think the best way for me to catch up is to just post some random pics of what we've been up to the past few weeks (other than being sick).

I got some snuggle time with Addie (our now non-napper most days):

Levi wants to do and have EVERYTHING Addie does-no matter what it is. Too bad he doesn't actually do what Addie does on the potty-he just sits there....I guess that's all he thinks Addie does as well. We need to work on that.

"Mopping" the back porch with his Addie smile (eyes squinted).

Close up.

Ready to go to a baby shower with Mommy.

Levi kept reminding Levi, "Boys aren't allowed to go to baby showers-only girls!"

Ready for the Duke/Carolina game to begin...good thing we took the picture before the game actually started so that we could all be smiling.
