Christmas

We had a very different Christmas this year...a sick Christmas.  We traveled to both Atlanta and Roanoke on the weekends before and after Christmas and were at home the week of Christmas.  The whole time we were at home, we were sick with the flu.  We were at least thankful to be at home while we were sick, and also that we all got the flu at the same time instead of having it spread out over several weeks.  I am very happy to say that all of us are healthy now-and hoping it stays that way!  Due to all the sickness, there aren't a ton of pictures.  As you will see, the flu did not hit Addie anywhere near as hard as it hit Levi, so the better pics are of her.  But, before sharing pics, I do want to mention some of my memories from Christmas this year.

Our kids share Bob and my love for music, which I am thankful for.  For example, both kids loved hearing the chipmunks sing on the radio.  What I thought was funny was that when the Jackson 5 came on the radio, they both got excited because they thought it was the chipmunks singing.

Next, "jingle bells" was a favorite song over Christmas for both kids.  However, when Addie sang it, it came out "jinger bells."  She sang that loud and clear, though!

"Hey Santa" is another song Addie especially enjoyed.  One line in the song is this: "hey Santa won't you hurry and bring my baby back to me."  That is what Addie loved so much about the song-that Santa would bring her baby back to her.  I love that she thought it was an actual baby. She's got babies on the brain.  I can't even tell you how many children she supposedly has at this point.  But she's been having them long enough that some of them I have been informed are no longer babies-they are big sisters and now have baby sister.  Some of the names of Addie's kids (that I can think of right now) are: Alabama, Smarty, Dylan, Amy, Cinderella, Pocahantas, Snow White, Belle, and Ariel.  I know there are more, but I can't keep up.

The last song that really made an impression was "Santa Claus is coming to Town."  Last summer, I took the kids to a movie theater-sometime in July.  Before the movie started, there was a music video of Justin Bieber singing and dancing to the song "Santa Claus is coming to Town" (the movie we were going to see was a Christmas movie).  So, the first time Addie heard the song "Santa Claus is coming to Town" on the radio this Christmas season, she said, "we heard this song at the movie theater!"  I was shocked (although I shouldn't have been because she has an incredible memory).  Every time she heard that song she said the same thing.

Unfortunately, Addie's memory is not always such a good thing.  Addie has hated Santa Clause ever since her 2nd Christmas-when she was no longer a baby.  She has taught Levi to hate him as well.  So, as soon as we told Addie it was time to decorate for Christmas because Christmas was coming soon, she immediately started crying, saying, "I don't want to see Santa Claus!"  So, our daughter definitely knows the truth about Santa and can ruin it for any child out there-hopefully she won't though.  Anytime someone asked her what she wanted Santa to bring her for Christmas, she said, "Santa is coming to my house" and looked at me for approval, making sure she was correct.  What a mess.

Anyways, on to the pictures!

Ready to open presents at Nana and Poppi's house
 Addie is ready too!
Addie giving Nana a hug, thanking her for her new necklace
 Levi got a train!
Christmas Eve at our house.  We let the kids exchange presents-an Angove tradition.
Levi knows his sister all too well.  He knew she had completely worn out her old high heels.
 Thanking Levi for the gift
Addie knew Levi always wants to use her Minny Mouse bowl, so she got Levi his very own Mickey Mouse bowl and plate!
Hugs for Addie
Christmas morning at our house.  I think you can tell Levi wasn't his usual energetic, smiley self.
 Stocking time!
 Not too excited, poor boy.
A new ornament!
Levi did get a little excited about getting some guns.
Our bride.  She received the veil from my wedding...and wears it almost every day!
A way too real looking snake-not my favorite thing he got.
Jessi!
 Our little cowboy
 Addie got a scooter
And Levi got a train set to go on his train table!
 It's a hit!

Merry Christmas!
