Birds

Early this spring, some of our neighbor kids discovered a birds nest in one of the trees in front of our house.  We found 4 eggs inside and kept an eye on them, hoping to see some baby birds.
And then they hatched!  It was hard to get a good picture of them because the Mommy and Daddy Robin did not want us to get close, but here is one of our best ones:
So, we went with the theme and did some other fun activities with it.  The biggest one was Addie building a birds nest of her own.  First, she gathered grass, pine straw, sticks, and some dirt.
Then she dug a small hole in the ground and "built" the nest around it.
It took some work, but she enjoyed it.
And of course the nest couldn't be complete without some eggs inside.  She decided acorns would work.
Finished product!
